What to do with ivory jewelry?

As I travel quite a lot I'm trying to bring something home from every single trip. Throughout the years I've gathered a nice pile of jewelry made of ivory. Some of my pieces got destroyed whereas others are simply dirty. I've been searching for any piece of advice about how to clean them and I've found this:
"Ivory should not be immersed in water as it is made up of layers and the layers may separate when wet. Wipe it over with a cloth squeezed out in warm water and mild detergent. Never allow knives with ivory handles to soak in hot water as this may damage the glue and loosen the handles.
Ivory yellows as it grows older and will grow yellower more quickly if kept out of the sun. Yellowed or roughened ivory can be smoothed with glass paper then rubbed with pumice but this should be done by expert." I actually became an expert myself for this purpose of cleaning my jewelry and I managed to do that quite well.
"Ivory carvings may be polished with whiting on a soft brush. If it's just yellowed, you can bleach it by rubbing in a little hydrogen peroxide and leaving it in the sun to dry. Don't try to do too much with ancient ivory, it would be better if a professional did it.
